Alessandra Tom (she/her) is an Amsterdam based dramaturg, producer and theatre artist. She regularly collaborates with Utrecht based collective, Utopia Syndicate, aiming to foster radical hope through speculative performances and installations. In addition to theatre making, she seeks to facilitate mentorship and community building through the arts. She served as production manager for SPRING Festival Academy and assisted production and programme coordination at ARIAS, an artistic research platform in the Netherlands.
In 2024, Alessandra completed her MA in International Dramaturgy at the University of Amsterdam, where she studied feminist archives and cultural translation in performance in depth. Her research focuses on food and performative dinner parties as a way of challenging hierarchies of knowledge, continually interested in the ways performance can bring people together.

Alessandra was born and raised in Tiohtiàke/Montreal, Canada where she trained in various visual and performance mediums before pursuing a BFA in Performance Creation with a minor in Human Rights at Concordia University. There she honed her interests in devised creation and understanding of performance as a tool for social change in both practice and product.
In Canada, Alessandra has regularly freelanced as a director, dramaturg and stage manager, collaborating on new texts. Meanwhile, she has worked with theatre companies that strive for equity and disruption of the status quo. She is a proud alumna of Black Theatre Workshop’s Artist Mentorship Program and most recently served as the artistic facilitator and literary manager at Teesri Duniya Theatre, as well as coordinated their Fireworks Playwrights Mentorship Program. Additionally, she was an artistic associate at Imago Theatre in 2022 where she collaborated on a number of projects and helped develop the company’s manifesto.
